Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS

We encourage all of our clients to meet with us directly as they are an integral part of the purchase, but we also welcome the
involvement of contractors and designers.

We do not install cabinets, but we have close relationships with a handful of local cabinet contractors. Please inquire for references.

We do not currently have a tile division, although we can offer references for tile contractors. Many of our natural stone
dealers also offer tile. Please refer to Products and Services for their website links.

Our estimates fall in the mid-range of our competition. Countertop Designs Inc. makes every effort to
maintain a competitive price. If you find a lower price, we will try our hardest to match it.

Some of our competitors are small independent fabricators who use cut-rate methods to offer their clients
rock bottom prices. Beware of bargain basement estimates, as they usually spare on quality. Our prices may
be higher than some for a few reasons:

  • We have invested in technology that offers precision cutting and finishing; straight lines are truly straight,
    curves don’t deviate.
  • Our employees are seasoned professionals, backed by years of experience, which take time and pride in their craft.
  • Quality and satisfaction are our main objectives, not quantity and quotas!

We have various edge selections that are offered as a standard. Please refer to our Solid Surface Edge Selection
Sheet and Stone Edge Selection Sheet for more details. Didn’t find what you’re looking for? Send us a picture and
we’ll see if we can make it for you.

Come in and see us! We have hundreds of remnants for sale that are waiting for a home. Prices range from $10-$20 per
square foot.

OTHER QUESTIONS

We will work all over northern California and the central valley. Travel charges may apply.

Our timeframe from final template to installation is typically five to ten business days. Proper planning will help reduce
the amount of time you spend without your functioning area.

Kitchen installations generally only require one full day.

We prefer not to, because it opens up opportunities for error in our measurements and templates. We understand
how inconvenient a remodel can be, especially when you don’t have a fully functioning room. Our standard practice
is remove your existing surface and make final templates on a Monday and install your new surface on the following
Friday. Removal services are not included in your estimate and are only performed upon request.

Yes, your cabinets must be in your final state before we come out to template. Cabinet plans alone do not suffice
for fabrication as they do not account for areas that may not be plumb, square or level. In-home consultations
assess these potential problems.
